Come to Shelburne Farms tonight, October 1, from 5-8 PM for the opening of “Lenses on the Land,” a photography exhibit of images shot at the farm, and “Of Land and Local,” a multidisciplinary statewide exhibit about art and the environment as it relates to the Vermont landscape. I captured this photograph of a bevy of Brown Swiss last autumn. The tufts on their heads (called the poll) make me think of days when ladies got elaborately curled hair-do’s at the beauty parlor. This is one of two photographs I have in the “Lenses on the Land” exhibit. Tonight’s reception is free, open to the public, and located in the Coach Barn.
